The Siemens 6SL3055-0AA00-5JA3 is a SINAMICS SME120 external sensor module for a sin/cos 1 Vpp incremental encoder with PTC/KTY temperature-sensor inputs and secure electrical isolation, rated IP67. It adds a separate 6-pin M17 temperature connector and a 9-pin M23 Hall-effect sensor connector alongside the 12-pin M23 encoder connector, drawing 0.16 A at 24 V DC; it is supplied without a DRIVE-CLiQ cable.

Selection Notes

Pick the SME120 over the smaller SME20 when the motor feedback also needs PTC/KTY winding-temperature monitoring and Hall-effect commutation signals through their own dedicated connectors, not just encoder position. The extra connectors are why the SME120's footprint, 117.6 x 43.1 x 127.0 mm, is roughly double the SME20's 58.0 x 44.0 x 112.0 mm.
