Power line surge protective devices (SPD) from Mersen, ABB and Siemens protect AC and PV distribution boards against lightning and switching surges. The range covers Type 1, Type 1+2, Type 2 and Type 3 devices in 1 to 4 poles, mostly Mersen Surge-Trap. Stoklink ships worldwide from Turkey and quotes project volumes.
What's in this range
- Mersen Surge-Trap K1 (Type 1+2) and K2 (Type 2) series.
- Mersen Surge-Trap pluggable STP-50, STP-75 and STPT12 (12.5 kA) series.
- Mersen Surge-Trap STZ, STXT, STXP, STXR and Monobloc ST series.
- Photovoltaic SPDs for DC strings up to 1000 Vdc.
- ABB and Siemens DIN-rail SPDs.
How to choose
- Type: 1 for entrances and lightning-protected buildings, 2 for sub-boards, 3 for terminal equipment.
- Uc: above the maximum system voltage. Examples in the range include 275 Vac, 320 Vac and 440 Vac.
- Surge rating: kA per mode, tested to the waveform for the type.
- Configuration: line-to-neutral and neutral-to-ground modes per system earthing.
- Indication: visual flag, remote contact or LED.
FAQ
Can I use a Type 2 SPD at the service entrance?
Only if no direct lightning current is expected. With an external lightning protection system or overhead supply, use Type 1 or Type 1+2.
What does pluggable mean for an SPD?
The protection modules plug into a base. A worn module can be replaced without rewiring.
