The Siemens 6SL3055-0AA00-5BA3 is a SINAMICS S120 SMC20 Sensor Module Cabinet, a 30 mm wide add-on board that evaluates incremental SIN/COS 1Vpp encoders and absolute EnDat encoders for closed-loop feedback on a SINAMICS S120 drive axis. Selection Notes

Select the SMC20 when the motor or machine axis uses a SIN/COS 1Vpp incremental encoder or an EnDat absolute encoder and the drive object needs a dedicated sensor module rather than an integrated encoder interface on the Motor Module. The 30 mm width sets its mounting footprint in the DRIVE-CLiQ component rack; a separately ordered DRIVE-CLiQ cable is required since none is included.

Applications

Used in SINAMICS S120 axes running external, non-integrated encoders where SIN/COS or EnDat feedback must be converted to a DRIVE-CLiQ signal for the drive's closed-loop control, such as retrofitted servo axes or third-party motors fitted with SIN/COS or EnDat encoders instead of a Siemens DRIVE-CLiQ motor.
