Pick the TM54F when the drive line-up needs fail-safe digital I/O beyond what the Control Unit's onboard terminals provide, for example wiring to external safety relays. Because it is supplied without a DRIVE-CLiQ cable, budget a compatible cable as a separate line item when ordering. As a cabinet add-on board rather than a field-mounted unit, it is placed inside the same enclosure as the Control Unit it serves, so plan panel space for it alongside the other SINAMICS S120 modules.
