Selection Notes
The silver housing matches the XVUC21BQ silver base unit and XVUZ01Q/02Q silver mounting accessories, so use the XVUC9SQ over the black XVUC9S wherever the tower's other parts were already specified in silver. Electrically it is identical to the black variant — same 85 dB output, 2635 Hz tone and 70 mA draw — so the choice between the two is purely about matching the housing colour of the rest of the stack. It mounts on top of the assembly (localisation: top) and counts against the same 4-unit stacking limit as the black XVUC9S once it is added to a tower.
Applications
Buzzer units are added to a Harmony XVU stack on lines where the operator may not be looking at the tower light when a fault occurs — packaging machines, conveyor transfer points and enclosed machine cells — so the audible tone draws attention before the visual indication is even seen.
