The Schneider Electric XPSUS32AP is a Preventa XPSU universal safety module rated PL e / Category 4 per ISO 13849-1, built for emergency stop, guard, light curtain, two-hand control and enabling-switch monitoring. It runs on a 48-240 V AC/DC supply and provides 2 safety inputs, 2 NO safety outputs, plus 3 configurable pulsed outputs on a 35 mm DIN rail.

Selection Notes

XPSUS32AP's universal input wiring supports several safety-input types — NC pair, PNP pair, antivalent pair or OSSD pair — configured through the module's function selection rather than requiring a dedicated single-function relay for each sensor type. Its Category 4 / PLe rating with a PFHd of 1.61E-09 covers emergency stop, guard interlocking, light curtain and two-hand control circuits in the same housing, reducing the number of relay types a panel builder has to stock. The 48-240 V AC/DC supply range covers both low-voltage and 110/230 V control circuits without a separate variant. The semiconductor diagnostic output (24 V DC, 20 mA, non-safety) reports status back to a PLC without adding a separate monitoring relay.
