- Description
The Schneider Electric VBDN12 is a 3-pole TeSys Mini-VARIO switch-disconnector rated 12 A, built from a VZ12 switch body and a padlockable black door-mounted handle for main motor switching up to 4 kW at 400 V AC-23. It mounts through a single 22.5 mm door hole and carries IP65 protection once installed.

Selection Notes
The VBDN12 is the lower-current member of the Mini-VARIO door-mounted pair; step up to the VBDN20 for loads above 4 kW at 400 V. Up to two add-on poles can be fitted either side of the VZ12 body — main (VZN12), neutral (VZN11), earthing (VZN14) or auxiliary contacts (VZN05, VZN06) — without changing the handle. Where the application needs a red/yellow emergency-stop handle instead of a plain disconnect switch, the VCDN12 uses the same VZ12 body.
Data note: the breaking capacity row is published on se.com as 120 A at 400 V (AC-21/22/23A); this is carried through verbatim, though it is an order of magnitude above the 0.5 kA making capacity (Icm) for the same device, which suggests the source figure may actually be in amperes rather than kiloamperes.
