The C404400D1S is a switch-disconnector, not a circuit breaker, so it provides manual isolation of a PV DC string or inverter input but no overcurrent trip of its own; upstream fuses or a DC breaker still handle fault clearing. The 6 kA Icw/Icm rating and 1000 V DC insulation level size it for utility- and commercial-scale PV combiner boxes rather than low-voltage 600 V DC residential strings, where a lower-voltage ComPacT NSX switch-disconnector would be the better fit.
