Schneider Electric BMXEIA0100 Modicon X80 AS-Interface Master Communication Module

The Schneider Electric BMXEIA0100 is a Modicon X80 AS-Interface (AS-i) master module supporting up to 62 discrete I/O devices or 31 analog I/O devices on a single AS-i network. It draws 160 mA at 3.3 V DC, connects via a 3-pin SUB-D male connector, and carries an IP20 enclosure rating with Class I Division 2 hazardous-location approval.

Selection Notes

The BMXEIA0100's standard addressing mode covers 124 AS-i server devices (discrete and analog combined); switch to extended addressing when the network needs to scale toward the 496-device discrete ceiling, accepting the 10 ms cycle time instead of 5 ms. Because the module carries ATEX/IECEx Zone 2/22 and Class I Division 2 approval, it is the module to specify when the AS-i segment itself runs into a hazardous area rather than staying entirely inside a standard enclosure.
