Residual current devices (RCD) from ABB, Siemens and Schneider Electric detect earth leakage and disconnect the circuit before it becomes a shock or fire risk. The range covers RCCBs, RCBOs and add-on blocks in 1+N, 2, 3 and 4 poles, with sensitivities from 30 mA to 300 mA. Stoklink ships worldwide from Turkey and quotes project volumes on request.
What's in this range
- RCCB (Residual Current Circuit Breakers) – earth leakage protection only, used with an upstream MCB or fuse.
- RCBO (Residual Current Breakers with Overcurrent Protection) – leakage, overload and short-circuit protection in one device.
- RCD Add-on Blocks & Earth Leakage Relays – blocks that clip onto an MCB, and relays for leakage monitoring.
How to choose
- Sensitivity: 30 mA for personal protection, 100 to 300 mA for fire protection and selectivity.
- Type: AC, A or B, depending on whether the load can produce pulsating or smooth DC leakage, as with drives and inverters.
- Rated current and poles: the RCD must carry the total load of the circuits behind it. Match 2P to single-phase and 4P to three-phase with neutral.
- Standard: IEC 61008-1 for RCCBs and IEC 61009-1 for RCBOs.
- Selectivity: use a time-delayed or S-type RCD upstream of an instantaneous one.
FAQ
What is the difference between an RCCB and an RCBO?
An RCCB only detects earth leakage, so it needs a separate MCB or fuse for overload and short-circuit protection. An RCBO combines both in one module.
Which RCD type do I need for a variable frequency drive?
Drives can produce DC leakage components that Type AC and Type A devices may not detect. Type B is normally specified for three-phase drive circuits. Check the drive manual.
Do you ship RCDs outside Turkey?
Yes. Stoklink ships worldwide from Turkey, EXW. Lead time depends on distributor stock, and we quote bulk project volumes on request.
