Type: 1 for entrances and lightning-protected buildings, 2 for sub-boards, 3 for terminal equipment.
Uc: above the maximum system voltage. Examples in the range include 275 Vac, 320 Vac and 440 Vac.
Surge rating: kA per mode, tested to the waveform for the type.
Configuration: line-to-neutral and neutral-to-ground modes per system earthing.
Indication: visual flag, remote contact or LED.

FAQ

Can I use a Type 2 SPD at the service entrance?

Only if no direct lightning current is expected. With an external lightning protection system or overhead supply, use Type 1 or Type 1+2.

What does pluggable mean for an SPD?

The protection modules plug into a base. A worn module can be replaced without rewiring.
