It has an IP67 die-cast aluminum housing, an M12 PROFINET IO Ethernet port, RS 232 and RS 422 interfaces, and runs on 24 V DC (19.2-28.8 V) drawing up to 2 A.

The MV560 U trades resolution for speed against the MV560 X: 1920 x 1200 pixels versus 2592 x 2048, but 60 Hz and a 60 codes/s reading rate versus 30 Hz/30 codes/s, so it fits higher-throughput lines where codes pass faster than one every 33 ms. Every other interface, the M12 PoE port, RS 232/RS 422, IP67 housing, and 24 V DC supply, is identical between the two, so the choice comes down to line speed versus code detail needed for a given application.
