The Schneider Electric XA2AS542 is an Easy Harmony XA2 complete emergency switching-off push button with a red, 40 mm plastic mushroom head and a turn-to-release reset. It switches 1 NC contact with positive opening and slow-break operation, mounting in a 22.5 mm panel cutout sealed to IP65.

Selection Notes

Positive opening on the 1 NC contact guarantees the circuit breaks mechanically even if the contact welds, the basis for using this as a genuine emergency-stop function rather than general switching. The larger 40 mm mushroom gives a bigger strike target than the 30 mm XA2AS442, useful where operators may need to hit the button quickly from an angle or while wearing gloves. Turn-to-release reset requires a deliberate twist before the mushroom pops back out; choose XA2AT42 instead for a push-pull reset mechanism on the same 40 mm head.
