- Description
The Schneider Electric VW3M3501 is an eSM safety card for the Lexium 32 servo drive, adding integrated safety functions at a 24 V DC (19-30 V) supply. It provides STO, SS1, SS2, SOS and SLS safety functions rated SIL 3 / SILCL 3 / PL e, with 11 discrete safety inputs and 7 discrete safety outputs plus reverse-polarity and short-circuit protection.

Selection Notes
The VW3M3501 adds hardware safety functions directly to a Lexium 32 servo drive without an external safety relay: STO removes torque instantly, SS1 and SS2 bring the axis to a controlled stop before removing or holding torque, SOS holds position under monitoring, and SLS limits speed while the axis stays enabled. All five functions are certified to SIL 3 / SILCL 3 / PL e, so the card covers Category 3/4 safety-circuit requirements at the drive rather than needing a separate certified safety relay in series with the drive enable.
Applications
Fitted to Lexium 32 servo drives on machines needing certified safe-stop or safe-speed functions at the axis, such as guard-door interlocking, maintenance mode with SLS, or a held safe position (SOS) during tool changes.
