The 4-pole TA16D4S1604TPE also switches the neutral along with the three phases, which is the configuration to choose when the two sources are separately earthed (for example two independent TN-S supplies) and the neutral itself must be broken during changeover. Its rotary knob / selector switch controller gives local automatic/manual control without a display, a simpler option for panels where remote diagnostics are not required and panel depth or cost is the deciding factor. Within the 80-160 A frame, this 160 A setting shares its enclosure footprint with the other current ratings built on the same frame, so the panel cut-out does not change if a different rating from the same frame is specified instead. The 10 kA during 0.1 s short-time withstand current lets it be installed directly downstream of an upstream breaker sized to that let-through level, without extra current-limiting fuses, and the AC-33B utilization category confirms it for uninterrupted-duty source changeover.
