- Description
The Schneider Electric BCH18LM30332A6C is a low-inertia Easy Lexium 18 BCH18 servo motor rated for 3.0 kW continuous power. It delivers 9.8 N·m nominal torque at 3000 rpm (6000 rpm maximum mechanical speed), draws 18.6 A continuous stall current, and uses a 23-bit incremental encoder on a 130 mm flange without a holding brake.

Selection Notes
This no-brake, incremental-encoder BCH18 variant sizes to the 3.0 kW LXM18 servo drive at its 18.6 A continuous current rating — the 56 A maximum permanent current is a short-duration figure, not the drive-sizing current. The larger 130 mm flange and 28 mm shaft (versus the 100 mm frame used by the 1.5 kW and 2.0 kW BCH18 variants) carry the higher rotor inertia of 7.63 kg.cm² that comes with this power class. The 23-bit incremental encoder needs a homing move at every power-up since it does not hold absolute position; pick the multi-turn-encoder version of this frame if that re-homing step is not acceptable. Peak stall torque of 29.4 N·m gives roughly 3x headroom over the 9.8 N·m continuous rating for acceleration bursts, and the torque constant of 0.53 N·m/A at 40 °C sets the current needed from the LXM18 drive for any given torque demand on this frame.
