The 5 m preassembled length with LC duplex connectors suits a short jumper run between a patch panel and a switch port, or between two adjacent cabinets, not a distribution run. LC duplex connectors have a smaller footprint than BFOC/ST, so they suit high-port-density patch panels and switches. For a longer segment such as a machine-to-cabinet run, choose a longer pre-terminated length or a BFOC-terminated variant in the same cable range instead of field-splicing this jumper.
