At 850 nm the 600 GHz·m bandwidth-length product and 2.7 dB/km attenuation support 100BaseFX Industrial Ethernet runs to 5000 m and 1000BaseSX runs to 750 m, well beyond this cable's 80 m length, leaving margin for patch-panel and connector losses. Choose a different pre-terminated length in the same cable range when the run distance differs from 80 m, since field-terminating glass fiber is not a FastConnect operation.
Applications
Used to link Industrial Ethernet switches, PLCs, and remote I/O over 100BaseFX or 1000BaseSX fiber-optic backbones where electrical isolation or distances beyond copper limits are needed.
