The four-BFOC preassembled termination fits directly into ports accepting BFOC/ST-style fiber connectors, so no field splicing or connector kit is needed for this reel. At 850 nm the 600 GHz·m bandwidth-length product and 2.7 dB/km attenuation support 100BaseFX Industrial Ethernet runs to 5000 m and 1000BaseSX runs to 750 m, well beyond this cable's 80 m length, leaving margin for patch-panel and connector losses. Choose a different pre-terminated length in the same cable range when the run distance differs from 80 m, since field-terminating glass fiber is not a FastConnect operation.
Applications
Used to link Industrial Ethernet switches, PLCs, and remote I/O over 100BaseFX or 1000BaseSX fiber-optic backbones where electrical isolation or distances beyond copper limits are needed. The -25 to +80°C operating range and IEC 60332-1-2 / 60332-3-22 flame-resistant sheath suit indoor cable trays and outdoor conduit runs alike.
