The Siemens 6RA8098-4DS22-0AA0 is a SINAMICS DCM armature converter for two-quadrant DC drives, built around a single fully-controlled B6C thyristor bridge with a D485/3000 field rectifier. It takes a 400 V 3AC supply at up to 2490 A controllable and delivers 485 V DC at up to 3000 A to the motor armature, covering motoring plus regenerative braking in one direction of rotation.

The single B6C bridge suits drives that run in one direction of rotation with motoring and regenerative braking, such as fans, pumps, and unidirectional conveyors, needing less cabinet space than a four-quadrant unit with two anti-parallel bridges. At 3000 A this is the higher-current step in the D485 two-quadrant family, above the 2000 A version, for larger single-direction DC motor loads on the same 400 V 3AC supply. Drives that must reverse rotation direction with full braking in both directions need the four-quadrant (B6)A(B6)C variant instead.
