The Siemens 6RA8087-6DS22-0AA0 is a SINAMICS DCM two-quadrant DC converter for DC drives, rated for 485V DC output at up to 850A from a single B6C fully controlled bridge. It is supplied from a 400V 3AC line drawing up to 706A and includes field rectifier D485/850 (MRE-GEEF6S22) for separate field excitation of the DC motor.

This unit uses a single B6C bridge, so armature current only flows in one direction: the drive can motor forward and reverse via field or sequencing logic, but it cannot feed energy back to the line through this converter. That makes the 6RA8087-6DS22-0AA0 the right choice for loads that run in essentially one torque direction without regenerative braking, such as fans, pumps, or extruders, at the 850A output rating. Where the application needs dynamic braking back into the supply or fast four-quadrant reversal, the four-quadrant variant with the same output rating is the one to specify instead.
