Selection Notes

Linear polarization on the RF642A concentrates energy in one plane, which favors read range on tags oriented consistently to the antenna, unlike a circular antenna that trades some range for tolerance to tag orientation. At 6 dB gain with a 75° x 70° radiating pattern, it suits a fixed gate or conveyor position where tag orientation is predictable and the read zone needs to stay tight. The 0.3 m pigtail terminates in RP-TNC male, so a separate SIMATIC RF600 antenna cable of the required length connects it to the reader.
