SFP993-1LD is the 10 km single-mode transceiver in the SFP993 family: choose it over the multimode variant once the fiber run exceeds a few hundred meters, and over the 40 km variant when the link distance stays within 10 km and the lower transmit power budget is sufficient. Its -8.2 to 0.5 dBm output and -12.6 dBm receiver sensitivity set the practical loss budget, so verify connector and splice losses against these figures before specifying the run. It plugs into any SFP cage on a compatible SCALANCE X switch or SFP media module.
