The Siemens 6GK5992-4SA00-8AA0 (MM992-4CU) is a SCALANCE X media module that adds four RJ45 copper ports at 1000 Mbit/s to a modular SCALANCE X switch, without a securing collar on the connectors. It latches into the switch's media module slot, operates from 0 to 60C, and carries an IP20 rating for cabinet installation.

MM992-4CU is the RJ45 copper variant without a securing collar: pick it over the collared version when standard RJ45 plugs are acceptable and the collar's extra retention is not needed, or over the SFP variant when the uplink runs on twisted-pair cable. It supplies fixed copper ports at up to 1000 Mbit/s, so no separate transceiver is needed or can be swapped in. It occupies one media module slot on a modular SCALANCE X switch, so available slot count on the target chassis limits how many can be fitted per unit.
