MM992-4SFP is the SFP variant of this media module family: pick it over the RJ45 copper variants when the uplink needs optical fiber or when transceiver types must be swapped without rewiring copper runs. It supplies slots only, SFP transceivers are ordered separately, so match the transceiver's rated distance and fiber type to the actual run. It occupies one media module slot on a modular SCALANCE X switch, so available slot count on the target chassis limits how many can be fitted per unit.
