Circular polarization on the ANT793-8DQ keeps the link stable regardless of how a mobile client's antenna is oriented, which the linear-polarized sector and directional antennas elsewhere in the SCALANCE W range cannot do. Because it ships for mast mounting only, plan a mast or pole installation rather than a wall bracket when specifying this antenna over the wall-or-mast variants in the series.
