The Siemens 6GK5792-8DN00-0AA6 ANT792-8DN is a directional IWLAN antenna with 14 dB gain, a 35-degree horizontal beamwidth, and a 20 dB front-to-back ratio for the 2.4 GHz band. It terminates in a female N-Connector, mounts on a mast or wall, and is rated IP23 for -40 to +80 degrees C outdoor use with an ASA enclosure that withstands 57 N wind load at 160 km/h.

Selection Notes
The 14 dB gain and narrow 35-degree beamwidth make this the antenna for point-to-point or point-to-multipoint links over distance, such as connecting a remote yard access point back to a central switch room, rather than area coverage. The 20 dB front-to-back ratio limits interference picked up from behind the antenna, which matters when it is mounted near other radios on the same mast. IP23 is lower than the omnidirectional and Helix antennas in this family, so it depends on its mounting aid and enclosure design rather than a sealed housing for weather resistance. Pick the ANT792-6MN omnidirectional antenna instead when client devices need to associate from more than one direction.
