The Siemens 6GK5766-1GE00-7DA0 SCALANCE WAM766-1 is an IWLAN access point with two permanently installed 2.4/5 GHz radios supporting IEEE 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) at up to 1201 Mbit/s gross per radio in 2x2 MIMO. It broadcasts up to eight SSIDs, connects through a PoE-capable M12 Gigabit Ethernet port, and takes redundant 24 V DC via an M12 L-coded connector, with an IP65 enclosure rated -30 to +60 degrees C.

Selection Notes

Eight SSIDs let this access point separate production, guest, and diagnostic WLANs on one radio pair instead of deploying multiple units. Access Point mode and client mode both run on the same hardware, so the unit can be reconfigured for either role during commissioning without a hardware change. The M12 Gigabit port carries both PoE and a dedicated redundant 24 V DC input, so wiring stays the same whether the switch upstream supplies power or a local 24 V rail does. Pick the extended-temperature EEC variant instead when the installation sees temperatures above +60 degrees C or vibration beyond a standard enclosure.
