The Siemens SCALANCE WAM763-1 (6GK5763-1AL00-7DA0) is a Wi-Fi 6 (IEEE 802.11ax) IWLAN access point delivering up to 1201 Mbps gross data rate over two 2x2 MIMO radios, with 8 SSIDs for network segmentation. It has four Gigabit RJ45 ports, an integrated digital input and output, a CLP slot for iFeatures, and redundant 24V DC supply in an IP30 enclosure rated -30 to +60 degC.

Selection Notes
The WAM763-1 runs in Access Point Mode with 8 SSIDs, against the WUM763-1's single-SSID client mode on otherwise identical radio, port and enclosure hardware - pick it as the infrastructure side of a Wi-Fi 6 cell that needs to serve several logically separated networks (for example production, guest, and diagnostic VLANs) from one radio. Like the WUM763-1, it carries an integrated DI/DO for a local status or interlock signal. For a lower-cost, lower-throughput access point where 150 Mbps and a single SSID are enough, the older W761-1 RJ45 remains the simpler option.
Applications
The WAM763-1 covers a work cell or line section with Wi-Fi 6 clients (SCALANCE WUM763-1 or compatible devices) while splitting production, diagnostic and guest traffic across its 8 SSIDs on the same access point.
