The Siemens SCALANCE W761-1 RJ45 (6GK5761-1FC00-0AA0) is an IWLAN access point that provides wireless coverage for Industrial Ethernet devices over IEEE 802.11a/b/g/h/n at up to 150 Mbps gross data rate. It supports Access Point Mode and client mode with one SSID, one radio, one R-SMA antenna port, a single RJ45 uplink, and 24V DC supply in an IP20 enclosure.

Selection Notes

The W761-1 RJ45 shares its radio hardware, 150 Mbps rate and enclosure with the W721-1/W722-1 RJ45 clients but runs in Access Point Mode with WDS and forced-roaming support, making it the infrastructure side of a client-AP wireless cell rather than the device-side connection. VLAN support with IWLAN and DHCP Option 82 let it tag and locate traffic per SSID, which the client variants do not need. For a higher-throughput or Wi-Fi 6 access point with more ports, use the WAM763-1 instead of stacking multiple W761-1 units.

Applications

The W761-1 RJ45 is mounted as a fixed access point covering a work cell or aisle, serving one or more SCALANCE W721-1/W722-1 clients on moving equipment such as forklifts or conveyor-mounted sensors.
