The Siemens SCALANCE W734-1 RJ45 (6GK5734-1FX00-0AA0) is an IWLAN client module with 2x2 MIMO delivering up to 300 Mbps gross data rate over IEEE 802.11a/b/g/h/n, two R-SMA antenna ports and an integrated 2-port PoE switch. It runs on redundant 24V DC or Power-over-Ethernet, in an IP30 enclosure rated -20 to +60 degC, with a KEY-PLUG slot for iFeatures.

Selection Notes

The W734-1 RJ45 doubles the W721-1/W722-1's throughput to 300 Mbps with 2x2 MIMO and adds a second antenna port plus an integrated 2-port PoE switch, so a second Ethernet device can be daisy-chained from the same drop - pick it over the W721-1/W722-1 whenever the link needs more bandwidth, PoE power delivery, or the wider -20 to +60 degC operating range and IP30 enclosure. iPCF fast roaming requires the KEY-PLUG W780 or W740 iFeatures add-on here, unlike the W722-1 RJ45 which supports it natively.

Applications

The W734-1 RJ45 fits a mobile or outdoor-adjacent installation needing higher WLAN throughput and PoE-powered Ethernet devices at the same drop point, such as a camera plus a sensor on a conveyor section, in a wider temperature range than the indoor-only W72x clients.
