The Siemens SCALANCE PS598-1 (6GK5598-1AA00-3AA0) is a 300 W power supply for the SCALANCE X-500 switch family, taking 85-264 V AC wide-range input and delivering a regulated, galvanically isolated 24 V DC output at up to 12.5 A. It plugs directly into the basic unit or mounts in a 19-inch rack, with a green LED indicating 24 V ok and a separate fault LED.

The PS598-1's 12.5 A / 300 W output covers the higher end of SCALANCE X-500 switch power budgets, including PoE-heavy configurations that draw well above the current a compact switch power stage alone provides. Two units can be paralleled to double available output current where a single 300 W supply is not enough for the connected load. Its wide 85-264 V AC input tolerates weak or fluctuating mains without a separate stabilizer, and the 16 ms minimum buffering time rides through short supply dropouts without a switch reboot.
