Selection Notes

This is the single-supply variant of the XR524-8C: one 230 V AC feed with a spare power terminal, no second supply installed. Choose it for cabinets on a single reliable AC circuit; pick the dual-supply variant when the switch sits on a critical PROFINET segment that must stay up through a single feed loss. Layer 3 routing (RIPv2, OSPFv2, VRRP) is present in firmware but stays inactive until a KEY-PLUG XR-500 is fitted, so budget for the license if the site needs inter-VLAN routing rather than pure Layer 2 switching.
