The Siemens SCALANCE XR328-4C WG (6GK5328-4FS00-2RR3) is a managed Layer 2 industrial Ethernet switch for 19-inch cabinet mounting, combining 24 electrical 10/100 Mbit/s RJ45 ports with 4 combo ports that run at 1000 Mbit/s electrical or optical. It runs from a 24 V DC supply, 19.2-28.8 V range, and supports PROFINET IO diagnostics, MRP and HRP ring redundancy, plus IEC 62443-4-2 cybersecurity certification.

Selection Notes

The 2RR3 variant shares the 24 V DC electrical design of its hazardous-location-rated sibling but omits cULus, ATEX/UKEX/IECEx and CCC-Ex approval, which is the right choice when the installation is not in a classified Zone 2/22 or Division 2 area. It still carries CE, UKCA, KC and RCM marking plus an Environmental Product Declaration, so general industrial and export markets outside hazardous zones are covered. Pick the hazardous-location-rated sibling instead if the panel sits in a classified area, or the 240 V AC-powered version if the cabinet has no 24 V DC control supply available.
