The Siemens 6GK5216-4GS00-2AC2 SCALANCE XC216-4C G is a full-Gigabit managed Layer 2 switch with 16 10/100/1000 Mbit/s RJ45 ports plus 4 Gigabit combo ports for RJ45 or SFP transceivers. Rated for -40 to +70 degC operation at IP20 with redundant 24 V DC supply, it adds IEEE 1588v2 PTP timing on top of RSTP, MRP, HRP, and PRP redundancy.

Selection Notes

The XC216-4C G upgrades all 16 fixed ports to 10/100/1000 Mbit/s and adds IEEE 1588v2 PTP timing, so choose it over the mixed-speed XC216-4C when every connected device is Gigabit-capable or the application needs PTP time synchronization across the network. The 4 SFP-capable combo ports still allow a fiber uplink alongside the full-Gigabit copper ports. Pick the XC216-4C instead when most field devices are 10/100 and full Gigabit throughput on every port is not required.
