The Siemens 6GK5216-4BS00-2AC2 SCALANCE XC216-4C is a managed Layer 2 industrial Ethernet switch with 12 RJ45 10/100 Mbit/s ports plus 4 Gigabit combo ports that accept either RJ45 or SFP fiber transceivers. Rated for -40 to +70 degC operation at IP20 with redundant 24 V DC supply, it supports RSTP, MRP, HRP, and PRP redundancy at PROFINET conformity class B.

The XC216-4C adds 4 Gigabit combo ports (RJ45 or SFP, user-selectable) to the 12-port RJ45 XC216-4C layout, so choose it when the segment needs a fiber or copper Gigabit uplink alongside standard 10/100 device ports without stepping up to the full-Gigabit XC216-4C G. It shares the XC216 family's -40 to +70 degC range and die-cast aluminum/PC-GF10 enclosure for outdoor cabinets or unheated switch rooms. Pick the plain XC216 instead when no Gigabit uplink or SFP option is needed.
