Siemens 6GK5216-0UA00-5ES6 SCALANCE XP216PoE EEC 16-Port M12 PoE Railway Switch

The Siemens 6GK5216-0UA00-5ES6 SCALANCE XP216PoE EEC is a managed industrial Ethernet switch with 16 M12-coded ports, 8 of which supply Power over Ethernet at up to 30 W per port and 120 W total, plus railway approval to EN 50155 and EN 45545. Rated IP65 and -40 to +70 degC continuous, it runs PROFINET IO diagnostics at conformity class B with MRP and HRP redundancy.

Selection Notes

The XP216PoE EEC combines the 16-port M12 XP216 layout with 8 PoE-capable ports (6 at 10/100 Mbit/s, 2 Gigabit) and EN 50155/EN 45545 railway approval, so specify it when rolling-stock or trackside equipment needs to power PoE devices such as cameras directly from the switch. Compared with the non-PoE XP216EEC, the higher 54 V PoE supply and 13 W rated power loss reflect the added PSE circuitry. Choose the standard XP216PoE (non-EEC) instead for stationary field installations that do not require railway type approval.
