The Siemens 6GK5216-0HA00-2AS6 SCALANCE XP216 is a managed industrial Ethernet switch with 16 M12-coded ports: 12 at 10/100 Mbit/s and 4 at 10/100/1000 Mbit/s. Rated IP65 for cabinet-free mounting and -40 to +70 degC operation, it runs PROFINET IO diagnostics at conformity class B with MRP and HRP ring redundancy.

Selection Notes

The XP216 doubles the XP208's port count to 16 M12 connections, including 4 Gigabit-capable X-coded ports for a faster uplink or a mix of gigabit devices alongside 12 standard 10/100 D-coded ports. Its IP65 aluminum housing and ET200pro carrier mounting let it sit directly on the machine without a control cabinet, unlike RJ45-based XC/XB switches that need an IP20 enclosure. Choose the PoE variants of this series instead when field devices need to be powered directly from the switch.
