The Siemens 6GK5216-0BA00-2AC2 SCALANCE XC216 is a managed Layer 2 industrial Ethernet switch with 16 RJ45 10/100 Mbit/s ports, a console port, and redundant 24 V DC power inputs. Rated for -40 to +70 degC operation at IP20, it supports RSTP, MRP, and HRP ring redundancy with PROFINET IO diagnostics at conformity class B.

The XC216 gives 16 RJ45 ports in a single fixed-configuration switch, doubling the port count of the 8-port XC208 for cells with more field devices per segment. Its -40 to +70 degC rating and die-cast aluminum/PC-GF10 enclosure suit outdoor cabinets or unheated switch rooms where the indoor-only XB series does not apply. Choose the fiber-uplink XC216-4C variants instead when the segment needs SFP or gigabit combo ports alongside the RJ45 count.
