The Siemens 6GK5208-0UA00-5ES6 SCALANCE XP208PoE EEC is a managed industrial Ethernet switch with 8 M12-coded 10/100 Mbit/s ports, 4 of which supply Power over Ethernet at up to 30 W per port and 120 W total. Rated IP65 for cabinet-free mounting and -40 to +70 degC operation, it runs PROFINET IO diagnostics at conformity class B with MRP and HRP ring redundancy.

The XP208PoE EEC packs its 8 ports into M12 connectors with an IP65 housing, so it mounts directly in the field without a control cabinet, unlike the RJ45-based XC/XB series that need IP20 enclosures. The 4 PoE-capable ports (30 W per port, 120 W total budget) let it power M12-connected cameras or WLAN access points from the switch itself, removing separate injectors. Choose the EEC variant over the standard XP208 when the installation needs the extended -40 to +85 degC 10-minute transport rating on top of the normal -40 to +70 degC operating range.
Applications
M12 field-mounted PROFINET switching for machine-level networks and outdoor/vibration-exposed installations that need to power PoE devices such as IP cameras or WLAN access points directly at the switch.
