The Siemens SCALANCE 6GK5208-0HA00-2ES6 (XP208EEC) is a managed PROFINET switch with eight 10/100 Mbit/s M12 D-coded ports in an IP65 aluminum enclosure, approved to railway standards EN 50155 and EN 45545. Conformal-coated boards let it withstand 10 minutes at -40 to +85 degC, and it runs from a redundant 24 V DC supply with PROFINET conformity class B.

The 6GK5208-0HA00-2ES6 is the railway-rated sibling of the XP208: pick it over the base XP208 when the installation must meet EN 50155 rolling-stock electrical duty or EN 45545 fire-behavior requirements, since conformal coating and the extended 10-minute -40 to +85 degC rating are unique to this variant. Port count, M12 connector layout, IP65 rating and PROFINET conformity class B are identical to the base unit, so outside a railway application the standard XP208 covers the same networking job at lower cost.

Trackside and onboard PROFINET networks, transit rolling stock, and other EN 50155/EN 45545-regulated environments needing an IP65 M12 managed switch.
