The Siemens SCALANCE XCM108PoE 6GK5108-2RS00-2AC2 is an unmanaged 8-port switch with 6x Gigabit RJ45 PoE ports and 2x SFP cages that accept either 1000 Mbit/s or 10,000 Mbit/s modules for the uplink. PoE runs under IEEE 802.3at, up to 30 W per port and 120 W total. Two DC power inputs, rated 24 V and 54 V, both cover a 19.2-55 V range for redundant feed.

Selection Notes

The two SFP+ cages set this variant apart from the plain 8-port XCM108PoE switches: fiber uplinks to a core switch or server room, at 1 Gbit/s or 10 Gbit/s depending on the SFP module fitted, without giving up PoE on the remaining ports. Losing 2 of the 8 physical ports to SFP cages drops PoE-capable ports from 8 to 6, so this is the right pick when a fiber uplink matters more than raw PoE port count. Choose the plain 8x RJ45 Gigabit PoE variant instead if all connections stay copper and no fiber uplink is needed.
