This is the rack-mount, PoE, 10 Gbit/s-uplink member of the SCALANCE X108 family, built for server-room or comms-closet installs where a 19-inch frame and 240 V AC mains are standard, unlike the DIN-rail XCM108PoE variants that run on 24/54 V DC. The 200 W total PoE budget across 8 ports, versus 120 W on the DIN-rail siblings, suits denser PoE loads such as multiple PTZ cameras or wireless access points on one switch. Choose the 24 V DC rack switch instead if the installation only needs plain uplink ports without PoE and runs on a DC cabinet bus.
