The Siemens 6GK5106-2BB00-2AC2 SCALANCE XC106-2 is an unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch with six 10/100 Mbit/s RJ45 ports and two 100 Mbit/s BFOC multimode fiber ports, rated for -40...+70 °C operation at IP20 with redundant 24 V DC power inputs. It supports PROFINET conformity class A and up to 2048 automatically learned MAC addresses.

Selection Notes
The XC106-2 pairs six 10/100 Mbit/s RJ45 ports with two 100 Mbit/s BFOC multimode fiber ports on an unmanaged switch, so it extends a copper segment onto fiber without any switch configuration; choose it over an all-copper switch when a fiber run is needed to cross distance or provide electrical isolation between cabinets. Redundant 24 V DC inputs and a signaling contact let a supply failure be reported to a PLC without added hardware.

Unmanaged network extension for machine-level automation cells - connecting PLCs, HMIs, and drives over copper with a multimode fiber uplink to the next cabinet or building where electrical isolation or longer distance is needed.
