As an unmanaged switch, the XB008G has no VLAN, port-mirroring, or diagnostic web interface - pick a managed SCALANCE X-series switch instead if the network needs segmentation or SNMP monitoring; this variant is for straightforward star or line topology expansion where plug-and-forward is enough. ATEX, UKEX, IECEx, and CCC-Ex approvals extend its use into classified hazardous areas that a non-Ex-rated switch could not enter, and PRP support lets it participate in a redundant network ring without a separate media-redundancy protocol license. The 0.188 kg weight and 45 mm width keep the panel footprint small for an 8-port gigabit device.
