The Siemens 6GK1503-4CA01 is a PROFIBUS OLM/P22 V4.1 optical link module, a spare-part replacement unit that bridges two RS 485 PROFIBUS segments to plastic or PCF fiber-optic BFOC ports, carrying 9.6 kbit/s to 12 Mbit/s (or 45.45 kbit/s for PROFIBUS PA). It runs on 18 to 32 V DC, includes a signaling contact and measuring output, and supports ring redundancy.

Selection Notes
Plastic and PCF fiber cost less to terminate than glass but only reach 400 m (PCF) or 80 m (POF), so this variant fits short in-cabinet or in-building fiber runs rather than the multi-kilometer distances of the glass OLM variants. Two electrical PROFIBUS ports let it pass the segment through to a further node instead of dead-ending the fiber hop. As a listed spare part, it replaces an existing OLM/P22 in service without a design change to the segment.
Applications
Short-distance PROFIBUS fiber hops within a switch room or between adjacent cabinets, and field replacement of an existing OLM/P22 module.
