Siemens 6EP1961-3BA01 SITOP PSE201U 24V DC 40A Power Supply Buffer Module

The Siemens SITOP PSE201U (6EP1961-3BA01) is a 24 V DC buffer module rated for up to 40 A output that bridges short power interruptions from 100 ms to 10 s depending on load current. At full 40 A load it holds the bus for 200 ms; at 5 A it extends to 1.6 s.

Selection Notes

Buffer time scales inversely with load - 200 ms at the full 40 A rating versus 1.6 s at 5 A - so the actual ride-through this module provides depends on how much of its capacity the downstream load draws; size the connected load with that curve in mind rather than assuming a fixed bridging time. It has no communication interface, which keeps it simple for straight DC-bus bridging but means status is read only from the front LED, not over a fieldbus.

Applications

Placed downstream of a SITOP power supply to ride through brief mains dips or contactor-induced sags on a 24 V DC control bus, protecting PLCs and relay logic from momentary power loss.
