Selection Notes
The 8-axis ceiling with onboard integrated drive control for only 1 servo, 1 vector, and 1 V/f axis is the key sizing fact: this D410-2 DP handles one closed-loop axis locally via its SINAMICS S120 CU310-2-based drive control, with the remaining axes coordinated over PROFIBUS to external drives. The two PROFIBUS interfaces (configurable as master or slave, equidistant and isochronous) are the fieldbus path for those external axes, while the single Industrial Ethernet port and one DRIVE-CLiQ port handle engineering access and local drive commissioning respectively. With no onboard PROFINET interface, this variant fits machines already standardized on PROFIBUS rather than a PROFINET motion architecture.
