Selection Notes
Eight poles give this 1FK7-CT motor high torque density in a compact shaft-height-63 frame, at the cost of a higher electrical frequency at rated speed compared with a lower-pole-count motor of the same size. The single-turn 20-bit absolute encoder (Drive-CLiQ, AS20DQI) removes the need for a separate battery-buffered multiturn encoder in applications that don't need position memory through a power cycle - pick a multiturn-encoder variant instead if the axis must retain absolute position after power-down. No holding brake is fitted, so vertical-axis mounting needs external braking or counterbalancing.
Applications
Suited to synchronous servo axes in machine tools, packaging, and material handling where shaft height 63 mm and 11 Nm continuous torque match the load, and natural (fan-less) cooling is sufficient for the duty cycle. The Drive-CLiQ encoder interface connects directly to Drive-CLiQ-enabled Siemens drive systems without extra encoder cabling.
