- Description
The Schneider Electric LUCL18ES is a TeSys U magnetic control unit that plugs into a LUB32 or LUB38 power base to build a TeSys U starter-controller for 3-phase motors up to 7.5 kW at 400 V. Its dial-adjustable short-circuit setting runs from 4.5 to 18 A, tripping at 14.2 x Ir, and the control circuit accepts 48 V AC or 48-72 V DC.

Selection Notes
Choose the ES coil when the plant control rail is 48 V rather than 24 V or 110-240 V — common on older relay logic panels and some marine switchboards. The 4.5-18 A setting range matches the BL and FU variants in current band, so the coil voltage, not the protection range, is what distinguishes it from its siblings. As with every LUCL unit, it only covers short-circuit protection; overload protection must already be built into the connected drive or soft starter.
