- Description
The Schneider Electric LUCL18BL is a TeSys U magnetic control unit that plugs into a LUB32 or LUB38 power base to form a TeSys U starter-controller for 3-phase motors up to 7.5 kW at 400 V. It sets dial-adjustable short-circuit protection from 4.5 to 18 A, tripping at 14.2 x Ir, and runs on a 24 V DC control circuit.

Selection Notes
The LUCL18BL covers the mid current band of the LUCL lineup for LUB32/LUB38 bases; pick the 1X variant below 1.4 A or the 32/38 A units above 18 A on the same bases. Because this control unit only supplies short-circuit protection and manual reset, it is meant for applications where a connected variable speed drive or soft starter already handles overload protection — pairing it with an unprotected motor leaves no thermal overload coverage. The 24 V DC coil fits PLC or relay outputs already running on 24 V DC control rails; pick the ES or FU coil variants where the control supply is AC.
